Dean of Students

Dear Hellgate Elementary Families,

My name is Haley Patzner, and I feel fortunate to serve as the Dean of Students for grades 4–6 here at Hellgate Elementary. I’m thrilled to be part of a school community that is deeply committed to student well-being and growth.

I hold a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and a Master’s Degree in Teaching and Learning, Special Education focus, both from the University of Montana. Over the years, I’ve had the opportunity to teach and support students in a variety of unique settings. I began my teaching career in the remote bush village of Newhalen, Alaska, where I taught and also coached co-ed high school volleyball. I later taught 1st grade in St. Ignatius, Montana, before joining the team here at Hellgate as a Life Skills Special Education Teacher. Each experience has deepened my passion for education and strengthened my commitment to meeting the diverse needs of all learners.

As the Dean of Students, my top priorities are supporting academic learning, promoting a safe and respectful school environment, and fostering the overall well-being of every student. I aim to work closely with staff, students, and families to ensure that each child feels connected and empowered to thrive, both inside and outside the classroom.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time outdoors with my family. You’ll often find us hiking around northwest Montana with our dog, Archie, or enjoying a day on the river rafting and fishing.

I’m excited to work alongside you in making this school year a positive and meaningful experience for your child.

Warm regards,
Haley Patzner
